Compassion in Action
Kampala is 7,893 miles away from our home office in Atlanta, and the economic and
cultural gap is sometimes much wider. Follow our progress as we reach the children
of Uganda at Compassion in Action, the official Legacy World Missions blog.

Who We Are
Founded by Pastor Gary and Kathye Warner, Legacy World Missions is a faith-based charitable
organization, committed to the non-denominational mission of helping the most vulnerable of
God's children without regard to race or
faith. In an effort to provide needed aid to as many orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda as
possible, Legacy World Missions remains unaffiliated with any specific church group. This freedom
allows Legacy to raise support from many churches of various denominations and work closely with
many partnering organizations in Uganda, many of which are affiliated with denominational congregations.
Due to this flexibility, Legacy World Missions is uniquely suited to channel critical aid to those
who need it, without regard for religious affiliation or spiritual identity.
What We Do
Very simply, Legacy World Missions strives to meet the needs of orphaned kids, survivors of war
and those suffering from disease and poverty. We provide food, housing and education in a way
that makes them safer, healthier and empowers them to help others in their community.
How We Work
At Legacy World Missions, we embrace a Do Unto Others philosophy and strive to apply our Seven
Pillars to our every interaction:
• Discipline
• Respect
• Industry
• Cooperation
• Spirituality
• Common Pride
• Altruism
Using these Seven Pillars, we approach every challenge by seeking a solution that helps everyone
involved, supports the local economy and prepares the community to succeed.
Statement of Faith
We believe in one true and living God, and in Jesus Christ, His Son and Savior. We believe
that Jesus taught us to cross national, social and religious boundaries, and with that thought,
we serve people of every faith in Christlike love and compassion.
We believe that all children have the right to learn and grow in a safe place, free of fear
and danger. We believe in the potential of Africa and its people. We believe in equality in
education. We believe in protecting the weakest and most vulnerable and in speaking up for
those without a voice. We believe in being warriors of peace and architects of stability.
We believe that the human spirit is an unconquerable force, that prayer is our strongest
weapon, and that our Heavenly Father commands us to carry out these tasks with humility and
open hearts in His name.
We believe that we are part of God's unfolding plan. When we gather for worship or work,
we connect with believers everywhere, sealing His word into everything that we do.
How You Can Help
Blessings come in all forms. The best way for you to help is to give generously and from your
heart. Legacy World Missions maintains a database of volunteers and donors willing to give their
time and expertise to help the vulnerable kids of Uganda. Feel free to call our office and discuss
other ways you'd like to join our work.
